6歳と2歳育てる“介護施設で働くママ”「全部冷蔵庫から出すだけ」作り置きおかずで時短 子どもの笑顔と仕事後のビールがごほうび【ママドキュ】 (24/01/27 08:00)
Our featured mom today is Sayaka, 39, who lives in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. She has two children, ages 6 and 2. Sayaka works at a nursing home called "Tsukui," where she works as a functional trainer, providing exercise support at the day care center. Condiments are a lifesaver when it comes to preparing food in advance. It's 6:00 AM. Sayaka's morning starts with preparing breakfast and lunch. She opens her refrigerator and finds a ton of pre-made dishes. Grilled meat, stir-fried carrots, broccoli salad... they just keep coming out. She prepares food on her days off, and then all she has to do is heat it up for breakfast and lunch. The stir-fried carrots contain tuna and eggs, making them a great source of protein. She prepares broccoli in advance and makes it curry-flavored, a favorite of her kids. It's a simple meal: just place the dishes in the oven and sprinkle with olive oil, curry powder, salt, and pepper. What helps Mama Sayaka prepare food in advance is... Don Quijote seasonings. If you stir-fry vegetables with this dressing, they'll have a great flavor and be delicious. Her son, Chiaki, also gobbles it up. The drawers are covered with the letter "do." They're overflowing with seasonings from Don Quijote's private brand, Jonetsu Kakaku. Sayaka, who says she spends about 20,000 yen at Don Quijote once a month, has one of her best buys, which she keeps buying over and over again: Furikake, a seasoning made from roasted sesame seeds mixed with garlic, soy sauce, sugar, and more. It's a versatile seasoning that goes well with any dish, from ramen to salads. It contains garlic, so it's also great as sesame for namul or on rice balls. According to Mama Sayaka, "It has more punch than just sprinkling sesame seeds." She made her lunch and breakfast simultaneously, and they were ready in just 20 minutes. Workplace is a place where she feels valued. After waking up her children, feeding them, and getting ready, she arrives at work by 7:50. Sayaka's workplace is Tsukui, a nursing home in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. It's a large-scale day care center with approximately 50 elderly residents per day, and she serves as the caregiver. Her main job is providing exercise support as a functional trainer. She's slender, and often has to lift male residents by herself, making it a physically demanding job. Assisting with meals, changing diapers, and bathing, she's constantly on the move all day. She keeps an eye on the entire floor to prevent accidents, and her mind is constantly on the move. She even checks out the director filming, asking, "Have you been to the bathroom?"—a thoughtful gesture! She uses her hour-long lunch break to buy her own lunch, but instead uses it to go grocery shopping for groceries. After finishing off her cheap and delicious ramen, which she buys repeatedly to finish off her hotpot, and doing her shopping for the next day, she heads home for a quick eight-minute walk. After shoveling her lunch in just six minutes, she starts clearing away the morning's unfinished dishes. It may seem like she never gets a break, but perhaps the reduction in housework is what gives Sayaka the chance to rest. It's a job that's just too hard to continue while raising a child. "I feel happy when customers hold my hand and say they're relieved to see me today, or when even someone with severe dementia says, 'I feel at ease when I see your face.' I have a place here, too. It's an important place," says Sayaka. It's a place where Sayaka feels valued beyond just being a mom. A beer with dinner is a reward for herself. This working mom makes one last push from here. She finishes work at 5 PM and heads to pick up her child from daycare. Preparing dinner is all about speed. Once again, it's pre-prepared side dishes that help Sayaka out when she's exhausted. Season the boiled spinach with olive oil and soy sauce. Add some torn nori seaweed and it's super easy! Spinach and nori seaweed dressing is ready. The rice is microwaved. From breakfast to dinner, dinner is ready in just 10 minutes, without the need for a frying pan or knife. "There are a lot of difficult and unpleasant things, but at the end of the day, I want to see my kids' smiles, open a beer and say that I worked hard today and that it was delicious," says Sayaka. Perhaps it's because she has a place where she can feel her own value outside of being a mom that her children's smiles seem even more precious to her. ■Hokkaido News UHB Official Website https://www.uhb.jp/news/ ■Submit videos through FNN Video Post https://www.videopost.jp/up/?uhb ■Hokkaido News UHB Yahoo https://news.yahoo.co.jp/media/hokkai... ■Hokkaido News UHB X / uhbnews_uhb ■Hokkaido News UHB Facebook / hokkaido.news.uhb ■Hokkaido News UHB TikTok / hokkaido_uhbnews
