In an interview at the Telebrasil Summit 2026, Anatel's board member, Octávio Pierante, explained that the new technology integrates TV and internet, improves audio and video quality, and allows for personalized content, as well as public services directly on television. According to him, the implementation will be gradual, starting in capitals such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasília, without interrupting current channels. The transition includes new converters, device upgrades, and public viewing points. Anatel emphasizes that no one will lose access to traditional TV during the process. The project also represents a structural change in the broadcasting sector, impacting content production, business models, and job creation.
