Mallorca is the largest island in Spain’s Balearic Islands, located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Known for its crystal-clear coves, dramatic mountain roads, medieval towns, and luxury seaside lifestyle, Mallorca has long been one of Europe’s favorite island escapes — attracting celebrities, athletes, and artists from around the world. Even football legend Lionel Messi has spent holidays here. While many people know Mallorca for its beaches and resorts, the island is actually a paradise for road trips, where every coastline and mountain road feels completely different from the last. At the end of April, I took an overnight ferry from Barcelona with my own car and started a 3-day road trip around the island. Arriving at 6AM, the first stop was Palma Cathedral to catch the sunrise, followed by one of the most intense coastal mountain drives on the island, passing through the ancient village of Fornalutx and the breathtaking Pareis Gorge. The southeast coast brought unreal turquoise water at Moro Cove, the iconic sea arch Es Pontàs, and the beautiful fishing village of Cala Figuera. At night, I experienced the candlelit underground concert inside Caves of Drach — one of the most surreal moments of the trip. The final day ended with the legendary cliffside drive to Formentor Lighthouse, surrounded by endless Mediterranean views. Mallorca honestly feels like the kind of place that makes you question whether landscapes this beautiful are even real.
