JAY WORTHY | PLAYLIST pt.2

It’s been over a year since I put together the first edition of the Jay Worthy Playlist. Jay Worthy is an artist with an exceptional ear for Funk, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, and Rap not to mention a flow that never misses. If you’ve really been paying attention to the culture, you already know the caliber of artists he’s collaborated with: George Clinton, Method Man, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, 9th Wonder, Spice 1, Bun B, Ice-T, and many more. The producers he consistently works alongside are some of my personal favourites, including Harry Fraud, Cardo Got Wings, Sean House, The Alchemist, DāM-FunK, and others who continue to shape his unmistakable sound. I took my time building this playlist, track by track, weaving in original recordings from artists like The Valentines, Pink Rhythm and The S.O.S Band whose music has been sampled by producers Jay Worthy has collaborated with. The goal was to create more than just a playlist it’s a listening experience that connects the dots between the source material and the records that followed. As a DJ, I believe part of the job is introducing people to artists who deserve their flowers. Jay Worthy is one of those artists. As AI continues to evolve and blur the lines of creativity, it’s refreshing to see someone like Mr. P Worthy The Street Legend himself remain true to his craft, consistently releasing authentic, high-quality bodies of work rooted in culture, taste, and originality.
