Frühlingsmarkt in Marienhafe (Brookmerland, Ostfriesland) 2025 - Jahrmarkt / funfair 🇩🇪 impressionen

The spring market in Marienhafe, in the Brookmerland region, features a colorful fair, which, in addition to entertainment, also offers a varied program for all ages. Störtebecker's Tea Room is also worth a visit, as it hosts an arts and crafts and egg market on Sunday. Furthermore, retailers in Marienhafe usually participate in the spring market by opening their shops on Sunday. On Monday, Family Day attracts visitors with discounted prices. Visitors are catered for with typical fair delicacies. A fair (also known as a fair or funfair, often called a Chilbi in Switzerland) has been a multi-day market held annually in a town since the Middle Ages. Today, the term is also used for other temporary markets, although the terms amusement park and folk festival are also common. This is usually due to the fact that a fair has evolved into a folk festival over time. The region around Norden is primarily characterized by agriculture and tourism. The town has a good 27 kilometers of dike line and, in the Norddeich district, a ferry port to the offshore islands of Juist and Norderney. The Norddeich and Westermarsch II districts have held the official designation "Stately Recognized North Sea Resort" since 1979. On June 24, 2010, Lower Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs, Jörg Bode, awarded the two districts the highest level of tourism recognition, the "North Sea Health Resort." Today, Norden-Norddeich is the largest state-recognized seaside health resort on the East Frisian North Sea coast. As early as the 1950s, Norden was promoted as a vacation destination with the slogan "The Green Gateway to the Sea." In 2019 alone, Norden welcomed 318,298 guests and recorded 1,966,329 overnight stays. The town has the status of an independent municipality. It is designated as a medium-sized center in the state planning of Lower Saxony.
