Exploring the emerging use of AI in social work education and practice: findings from our research
In this session we shared findings and insights from 2 recently published pieces of research examining how artificial intelligence is being used and beginning to reshape social work education and practice in England. With AI systems developing at pace, their use among social workers, students and academics is growing. The session explored what this means for the profession, drawing on new evidence to highlight key trends, opportunities and considerations as the sector navigates an inevitable shift in how practice is delivered and taught. Attendees heard insights on how AI is currently being integrated into social work settings and educational environments, and what the findings might mean for the future development of the workforce.
