Here, we'll see how to perform the Transformation Ratio Test from scratch. First, we'll use a single-phase transformer to determine the correspondence between the primary coil and its secondary coil. Then, we'll use a three-phase transformer to learn how to identify the necessary connections that connect each primary coil to its secondary coil. In this video, we'll work with a three-phase transformer connected in delta (D) on the primary and star (y) with a grounded neutral (n) on the secondary. The secondary voltages and currents lag the primary voltages by 30°, respectively (Dyn1). You'll find this type of transformer in more than 80% of installed cases.
