This meeting forces a collision of their conflicting views about the “Joined” (the peaceful hive-mind Others) and what must be done to save humanity from losing individuality. Carol and Zosia’s relationship reaches a turning point. After a brief time together, Carol learns the Others intend to use her frozen eggs to create a custom virus that would make her join them, undermining her autonomy. Ultimately, Carol returns to Albuquerque, where she shockingly unveils an atom bomb. The finale ends on this cliffhanger, setting up a radical start for Season 2.
