Eric Nadel with Mast Mohammed - yr 1988
Following this Archive comment a complete summation of this incredible film is to be read. Kanji's summation follows this observation: The original upload was the first twenty minutes. The first twenty minutes was without audio. That short version of Mast Mohammed was taken down. What the Archive elected to do with the first twenty minutes was to overlay Padri's comment on the Mast state, on Mohammed being Mohammed. The intent to use Padri's audio was for the wider audience to inform those listeners. On that test upload the Archive was delivered a complaint. Why the use of Padri's commentary? It takes one complaint to damage a healthy intent. In this full release the Archive elected to remove Padri's dissertation. The Archive replaced Padri's commentary with background sound. The remainder of the mast film 40 is with audio. This film is with Mohammad, Eric Nadel's interaction with Mohammad - and Eric's talk on the Tiffin era, the early years at Meherabd. And assistance with Hermes.... A Charlie Morton film with Kanji Miyao on summation: In the beginning of the video, Eric is talking about a young man who comes from Bombay. This young man is taking medicine to keep his psychosis under control. He reads “God in a Pill” and decides to stop taking his medication while in Meherabad. This young man starts to act crazy. It takes two people to keep this young man under contrail. Mohammed looks at the young man and says "beehive." Since there was a beehive nearby Eric thought Mohammed was referring to the actual beehive. A little later when Eric was thinking about how to help the young man, Mohammed again says "beehive." This is when Eric understood that Mohammed was referring to the young man’s mind as a beehive. At 5:19 Eric talks about Curtis Roosevelt. He is a nice guy who is a chancellor at a university. Curtis wondered if Mohammed could give a discourse. As Mohammed was eating a papaya, Mohammed says “It all comes from a little black seed.” Eric says that was the discourse from Mohammed. At 12:06 Eric talks about Mohammed’s singing. At 13:49 - 17:56 Eric talks about Mohammed’s sleeping habits. At 14:10 Eric talks about another of Mohammed’s caretakers named Baulria. Eric calls him a blockhead, obnoxious, and a caveman. When Eric asks Baulria to do something, Baulria would grunt. During this time, Mohammad would make what Eric calls dinosaur noises. One night, Heather and Eric were imitating the dinosaur noises that Mohammad was making. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and it was Baulria, very politely asking Eric if there was some work Eric has for him. Eric thought Mohammad had trained Baulria to respond to the dinosaur noise. The Meher Baba Television Hour is the best in the oral history tradition.
