Hut to Hut Traverse “Picnic”

The Hut to Hut traverse is such a classic NH route with a rich history of fast times. Thanks to Scott Livingston for posting the idea of looping this multi sport style! I tried this route in 2020 but came up just short stopping before hitting Lonesome Lake due to horribly beaten feet. This year I managed to sloth through, getting the same foot issues as last year due to very wet trails. I think every season probably has its positives and negatives though so it’s always a tough challenge. Crazy I had to use my emergency bear spray on a coyote that stalked me for minutes on a steep uphill during the ride. I couldn’t ride fast enough to get away and he kept charging, so I blasted him with the spray and he fled. Otherwise the day was very challenging but I managed to enjoy myself. Unreal how many incredible views you get to see along the way. So fortunate to have had this experience. Hopefully this will get some others to try someday. I’m in the process of trying to get this onto the FKT website to spark more interest. Happy trails:)
