At the end of their fifth year as a band, Searching for Home got the opportunity realize a high class album production at the legendary Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg supported by "Neustart Kultur" financial support for culture and media. With bassist Johannes Kellig starting to work at the famous studios during the pandemic the band started to write and arrange eleven colorful, diverse and energetic, but thoughtful songs. With "Hidden Errors" Searching for Home makes a statement for handmade music featuring two pianists, guitarists, bassists, drums and percussion and a three-piece horn section while combining it with programmed elements by sound designer and film composer Ludwig Barth. The band continues to break boarders between Jazz, Pop, Funk and Soul and adds new styles to their repertoire like african folklore, trap beats, indie-esque guitars or sounds from the middle-east. The lyrics written by singer Ida Wutzler describe a loss of an inner balance, different aspects of self-doubts and gaps between conditions and individuality. But they also leave enough space for optimism. Filmmaker Julius Gintaras Blum who is a close friend of the band attended the studio sessions back in March '22. The result is a studio documentary including recording footage, snippets from the band life and interviews with all members of Searching for Home. Enjoy!
