Dlaczego Westerplatte? Polscy żołnierze i symbol oporu.

Westerplatte is the only official German name in Gdańsk. There are several associations with this place, the most important of which is linked to the beginning of World War II. Five hundred years ago, such a place was not even on the maps, and the Vistula River flowed into the sea elsewhere. Moreover, over 100 years ago, one of the most beautiful resorts in Gdańsk was located here. However, how did it happen that in September 1939, Poles defended themselves on the Westerplatte Peninsula while Gdańsk was dominated by Germans? This film discusses that. This film was made with the support of Mateusz Jasik from the Gdańsk Museum, who was our consultant. Thank you!
