秋田市河辺で発見の女性遺体、クマに襲われて死亡と判明　死因は出血性ショック　小学校周辺などで警戒続く (26/06/03 19:00)

Police officers in protective suits were also seen ahead of the students as they walked to school. The school and the site where the woman was found are very close to each other, and residents continue to live in fear. A nearby resident said: "A bear appeared about 30 meters from my house about a month ago. It was about 1 meter long, so it might have been the same bear." On the 2nd, a 73-year-old woman was found collapsed in a forest in Kawabe, Akita City, and was pronounced dead at the scene. When police arrived at the scene, a bear was found nearby and was culled by the local hunting association, but it is unclear whether it was the same bear that attacked the woman. The woman is believed to have been attacked by the bear while working on her farm, and she had injuries to both arms, her right chest, and her head. On the 3rd, police conducted an autopsy on the woman's body and revealed that the cause of death was shock due to massive blood loss from multiple injuries sustained in the bear attack. This is the first time in 2026 that a person has died from a bear attack in the prefecture. At a garbage collection point about 5 kilometers from the scene, an animal believed to be a bear was found rummaging through garbage between May 31st and June 1st, and the collection point has been sealed off. According to the prefecture's information map system, Kumadas, bears were sighted repeatedly within a radius of approximately 3 kilometers from the scene on the 3rd, and continued vigilance is necessary. Meanwhile, in Honjo Park, where bears were sighted multiple times on the 1st and where Yurihonjo City has set up box traps, bears were sighted again nearby on the 3rd. As of the 3rd, the bears have still not been caught in the box traps, and the park remains closed.
