This marked the Philippines' return to gymnastics and rowing, and the debut of skateboarding. The Tokyo Olympics yielded the Philippines' best-ever Olympic performance, with the country securing four medals. Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz made history by clinching the first-ever Olympic gold for the Philippines.
