He’s received the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences most valuable player award 5 consecutive times, the most is could be awarded; and has received the NARAS Most Valuable Player Virtuoso Award, an honor accorded no other bass trombonist. David Taylor has also received The International Trombone Association’s Life Time Achievement Award. He solos in major concert halls around the world, performs his own compositions, has developed a repertoire through commissions, and recorded many solo cd’s on labels such as Koch, New World, ENJA, DMP, Tzadik, CIMP, TLB, and PAU. Mr. Taylor teaches at the Manhattan School of Music, and Mannes College, performs exclusively on Edwards bass trombones, and has his own artist series of bass trombone mouthpieces. The New York Times has described his playing as “extraordinarily versatile”, “hair-raisingly virtuosic” and "disturbing yet fascinating". He is a member of Ensemble Échappé, NO HAY BANDA, and the trombone quartet So Wrong It’s Right. Del Tredici is an artist-researcher with matralab – a research space of inter-x art directed by Sandeep Bhagwati. In his role there, he has assisted in the creation of new works for trombone in the contexts of theatre, improvisation, dance, artificial intelligence, and tech garments. Felix has performed with Klangforum Wien, Schallfeld Ensemble, Musikfabrik, Ensemble Signal, the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Kollektiv International Totem, and the NOVA Ensemble.
