Harvesting Sovereignty is comprehensive; it includes consulting, a guaranteed market, and support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. This program is part of Plan Mexico to recover national production and the domestic market. Ultimately, what we want for the entire country is to improve production, to have more corn and more beans. Mexico must produce what we Mexicans consume; that is the best defense against any tariff. We are strengthening the Mexican economy and development with well-being, together with farmers. Continuing the Fourth Transformation means doing justice for those who have the least and feeding those who feed us. The Mexican government is strengthening the countryside and protecting native corn, a staple food for the indigenous peoples of our country. Following the constitutional reform approved by the Congress, the planting of genetically modified corn is prohibited in our country. Regarding beans, we are promoting the production of this grain, of which Mexico currently imports nearly 300,000 tons. We will expand rural schools to increase the productivity of agroecological crops, without chemical fertilizers to maintain soil quality. Furthermore, the Production for Well-being, Fertilizers for Well-being, and Guaranteed Prices programs continue. In the latter, we announced an agreement with the state government to increase the price of corn, which this year was recorded at six thousand pesos. Sowing Life also benefits more than 400,000 producers in the country, growing everything from corn to fruit trees. In company with the Governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, we delivered credit certificates to beneficiaries of the National Self-Sufficiency and Food Sovereignty Program.
