How Bandstand's Dancers Warm Up Their Tony-Winning Moves
Last month, Andy Blankenbuehler earned his third choreography Tony Award for his work on the new musical Bandstand, now running at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Set in post-World War II Cleveland in the era of 1940s swing, Blankenbuehler has created a series of stylized, high-energy production numbers that keep his ensemble on their toes eight performances a week. Four months into the show's Broadway run, we checked in with some of the dancers who bring the acclaimed choreographer's work to the stage every night. Watch to see how they keep all their Tony-winning moves Broadway-strong and "Blankenbuehler ready."
