Food That Fools! - BBQ Rib Cake

⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ RECIPE BELOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ I found this recipe/technique here https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/b... They use a ready made pound cake cut in half. I could not locate one in my local store so I used this recipe and made my own, baking it in an 8x11" dish : https://preppykitchen.com/pound-cake/ Cookie/bone recipe 1/2 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter, it didn't add it) Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the flour a little at a time until all the ingredients are well combined. If the dough is crumbly, bring it together into a dough ball with your hands, kneading slightly. If your dough is too sticky or soft, chill it for 30 minutes in the fridge. Roll out the dough between sheets of parchment paper until it is 1/4" thick all over. If your work surface is very small, or if your kitchen is very hot , cut the dough ball in 2-3 pieces and roll out one piece at a time. I took about a third of the dough and blended in some cocoa and some brown food colour to get a brown coloured dough. This will make a lot of cookie bones, you could easily cut this recipe in half. Here is a chocolate buttercream recipe: 1 cup butter 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 cups powdered sugar ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder About ¼ cup milk (more or less to get the right texture) Instructions In a large bowl, using a hand mixer, cream the butter until smooth Add the vanilla extract, and beat to combine Beat in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder Slowly add the milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, to reach desired consistency. This makes enough to ice a larger two layer cake. You could easily cut this recipe in half to make this rib cake and you should have enough.
