Initially, officers couldn't discern it as a drug den, so they used an undercover operation to catch the suspects red-handed. This footage shows the moment Metropolitan Police's Narcotics Suppression Division officers observed the entrance of a four-story commercial building on Pracha Uthit Road in Huai Khwang district, Bangkok. They had received information about a "secret pub" operating 24 hours a day, selling various drugs and catering to drug users. The building didn't look like a pub from the outside, but officers noticed intoxicated individuals leaving. Entry required knocking on the windows to get someone to open them, confirming the location. However, they believed a direct raid would alert those inside, so they disguised themselves as customers to conduct a sting operation, gathering sufficient evidence before launching the raid. From the moment officers entered the building, those inside panicked and attempted to destroy evidence. Police ordered everyone to remain still while they carefully confiscated the drugs. In summary, the suspects are divided into groups of "sellers," totaling 11 people: 4 owners and 7 employees. Seized items include 224 ecstasy pills, 51 grams of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, e-cigarettes, cash, and other assets. A key suspect is "Mr. Somchai," the building owner, who admitted to operating the clandestine bar for 1-2 years. He confessed to using some of the drugs himself and selling the rest to customers. There were 28 customers inside the bar. All were taken for drug testing. In total, 9 customers and employees tested positive for drugs. Police Major General Teeradet Thamsuthee, Deputy Commissioner of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, stated that the bar survived for over a year because it was known only to a select few patrons. Entry required a rhythmic knocking on the door to signal that it was a genuine customer, making it difficult for outsiders to detect. The establishment catered specifically to VIP customers to avoid arrest. Following this, the police will request the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) to investigate the source of the drugs.
