A ‘giant leap’ for the Swiss National Bank/central banks
The Bank of International Settlements is more innovative than you might think. In 2019, the Central Bank of Central Banks, as it’s often called, has opened an Innovation Hub with various locations around the world, including in Switzerland. It has, for example, collaborated with the Swiss National Bank to examine the usability of wholesale Central Bank Digital Currencies. So the question is, what’s coming up next? @TanyaKoenig of finance.swiss speaks with Morten Bech, the head of the BIS Innovation Hub in Switzerland, to find out what projects they are currently working on and what they will be presenting at the Point Zero Forum in Zurich next week.
