Tunza in Samburu

Samburu: It can be tough being a young girl in Samburu. Some harmful practices that exist include FGM, Early Child Marriage and Beading. Tunza in Samburu is an unfamiliar territory. But a reality check on how girls all over the world experience a myriad of challenges that affect their education, their physical and mental wellness, which further inhibit their growth, confidence, independence and to some extend human rights. It is hard to believe today is the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl (IDG), because there is still so much wrong happening to the girl child. Tunza opens spaces for girls to be heard and to be leaders. Join us in raising awareness about the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
