Walking through Padang Kota Lama (Esplanade) in George Town, Penang at around 10:00 AM. This walk covers one of the most historically significant areas in George Town, where several key landmarks are located within a short distance of each other. Beginning near the Penang High Court, the route passes through the Esplanade area, also known as Padang Kota Lama — an open field by the waterfront that has long been part of the city’s history. Along the way, we pass by notable buildings including Penang City Hall and Town Hall, both reflecting the architectural heritage of the colonial period. The walk also includes landmarks such as the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower and the surrounding Esplanade grounds, which continue to serve as a public space for gatherings and daily activity. Further ahead, we approach Fort Cornwallis, one of the oldest forts in Malaysia. At the time of filming, the fort is temporarily closed for renovation, but its surrounding structures, moat, and lighthouse remain visible from the outside. The walk continues along the waterfront, where the setting becomes quieter and more open, offering views of the sea and a more relaxed atmosphere.
