O MELHOR DA VIDA É DE GRAÇA - PENHA SC - UMA COMUNIDADE AMEAÇADA

Cars are not allowed in the area. To access it, you have to cross a wooden bridge where only pedestrians, motorcycles and bicycles can pass. We are in Penha SC, next to a busy road, but when we cross the bridge, everything changes magically. Right after the bridge, there is a trail, where there is a spring with water that comes from the hill covered in vegetation. Fresh and delicious, it supplies residents from near and far who come there to fill their gallons. There is no trash lying around and native trees are present. You can see the care taken in every detail. As you walk towards the houses, here and there are colorful signs that stir our imagination in a positive way. "Don't throw trash, throw seeds"; "Don't count the days, live them"; "The best things in life are free"... There is a sense of enjoyment and beautification that surrounds the place: old benches and chairs are painted, as well as some stones, all with the good taste characteristic of naive painting. The winding streets hide surprises at every turn. I felt at home, I felt welcomed, there are no walls, fences, bars, angry dogs or even the omnipresent security cameras. I find myself dreaming that I would live in this place, because it is the very materialization of every child's fantasies. Unfortunately, the 28 families who live there are threatened with eviction. I don't know what led me to visit this place, but I hope that the little visibility this video will have will help raise awareness among the speculators who will certainly make use of the area when they get rid of these beautiful and hospitable people who live there and take care of this little piece of paradise. Help spread this video, we deserve to see that these oases don't disappear. Thanks to Clóvis who has been my guide and guardian angel in Navegantes SC and the region.
