The Honda Accord CD5 and CD6, namely the Accord 2.2 VTEC with a 2.2-liter SOHC VTEC engine and the Accord SiR with a 2.2-liter DOHC VTEC engine, are likely a shared memory for many Hong Kong residents. Produced between 1993 and 1997, these Honda Accords departed from the previous stable Accord design, adopting a more aggressive, low-slung, high-rear-end design reminiscent of the Civic. Meanwhile, competitors like the Toyota Camry, Mitsubishi Galant, and Nissan Cefiro featured more traditional four-door sedan designs. Another reason for their popularity was Honda's VTEC system, offering more power and appealing to established men who wanted a faster driving experience. In fact, the CD series Accords maintained a relatively compact body but had a longer wheelbase and double-sided suspension, giving them a distinctive driving experience that was particularly appealing to those who valued handling. Today, REV Channel had the opportunity to revisit two CD-series Accords. After test driving them, both Lung Sir and Edmond Lau felt that the Accord of that era indeed had excellent handling. Meanwhile, the CD5 featured in the video was kept in pristine condition since its initial purchase, with only 70,000+ kilometers on the odometer – a testament to the legacy passed down from father to son.
