The government's own watchdog just admitted, in writing, that the VA has been underpaying a large number of veterans for years. A new report from the Government Accountability Office found that the way the VA decides your disability rating still rests, in part, on assumptions from 1945 — and because of it, the VA may be overpaying some veterans while underpaying others. Everyone else turned that report into a story about cuts. But the other half of the same sentence is the good news nobody is telling you about: a lot of veterans are being paid less than they are owed, and the report points right at who.
