Baby Elephant Walk played on a new Wurlitzer 165 Band Organ
I'm very pleased to finally be able to present a few videos of the completed Wurlitzer 165 band organ owned by Allen Velthoen recently featured in the AMICA Bulletin. I built the pipework and Allen built all the chests, valves, and chassis and all else required to play the pipes. The facade was a spare that John Malone had made several years ago. I recently made a trip to Allen and Ella's house to give the organ its final voicing and tuning. Allen did a remarkable job in making the tuning job as easy as possible by designing the organ in such a way that ranks of pipes that would normally be in the way could be easily removed to tune the pipes behind them. I have to say I was really pleased when I heard the organ spring to life after tuning. I hope you enjoy it too.
