Biography of Luang Phor Pae @ Wat Pikulthong, Singburi Province

Luang Phor Pae, from Orphan to Beloved Abbot and Amulet Master, born in 1905 in Singburi Province, Thailand. In his early life, orphaned at eight months, Luang Phor Pae faced hardship and poverty. He found solace in Buddhism, entering Wat Pikulthong at 11 to study Pali scriptures. His dedication and brilliant mind earned him respect and recognition. At 14, he traveled to Bangkok for further studies, returning to Wat Pikulthong as a novice at 16. He was ordained at 22, quickly becoming a respected monk for his strict adherence to Buddhist teachings and compassion for all. In 1931, Luang Phor Pae became the abbot of Wat Pikulthong at the young age of 26. He faced a temple in dire need of repair. With his leadership and fundraising efforts, he oversaw the temple's restoration, turning it into a vibrant center of Buddhist life. Luang Phor Pae, inspired by other monks, began creating amulets in 1938. His amulets, believed to be imbued with blessings and protective power, became highly sought-after. Luang Phor Pae continued to lead Wat Pikulthong for over 70 years, guiding countless devotees and gaining immense respect throughout Thailand. He passed away in 1999, leaving a legend of compassion, devotion, and beautiful amulets that continue to inspire and protect.
