What exactly is Transnistria — and why does this tiny breakaway region matter so much in today’s tense European geopolitical landscape? 🔥 LATEST UPDATE — Russian troops in Transnistria are now effectively isolated: Over recent months, Moldova and Ukraine have tightened control on all access points and border routes around Transnistria, significantly limiting resupply and rotation for the roughly 1,500 Russian soldiers stationed there. This leaves the Russian contingent with no reliable supply lines and no meaningful route for reinforcements or logistics, reshaping the strategic balance in the region.
