We’ve made it to the halfway point.. It’s Round 5 of the UCI Downhill World Cup, and if the first four rounds have taught us anything, it’s that this year’s field is deeper than ever and winning has never been harder. Anna Newkirk claimed her first career World Cup victory in Lenzerheide, Lina Frener has won the last two Junior Women’s rounds, and Jonty Williamson has been untouchable in Junior Men, taking victory at every round so far. Jackson Goldstone also looks to be hitting his stride again after finishing just 0.1 seconds shy of the podium last round. La Thuile is no stranger to world-class bike racing. Tucked into the Italian Alps beneath the shadow of Mont Blanc, the valley has been a staple of the Enduro World Series for years, but it's still relatively new to the Downhill World Cup calendar. This week, we’re checking in with riders from across the pits to hear how their seasons have unfolded so far, what they’re expecting from one of the calendar’s most demanding tracks, and how they’re preparing for race day.
