After a tremendous amount of publicity surrounding his 1989 "coming out" on television and in print, Bob Paris spent another year on the IFBB contest circuit, competing in 10 shows that year. Overall, his placings were better than in 1988, but that doesn't mean he wasn't held back from even higher placings by people who were displeased by his revelation.
