Retiring Our 33’ L&H: One Last Ride
After getting blown out offshore earlier in the day. Anthony takes the time to do a heavily requested walkthrough of the teams 33 foot L&H Gameboat. Shop World Tour Apparel - https://badcompanyfishingadventures.c... The boat was originally intended to only fish one specific location. The calm waters off Angola, West Africa. After receiving news at the beginning of 2023 that the teams 43’ Release boat had a damaged hull, the group had to make a quick decision on how to find a replacement boat for the World Tour. The quickest option was to put the 33’ L&H to the test as the fleets back up. It was both the fastest and cheapest option for keeping the world tour going without any breaks in the schedule. The smallest boat in the fleet proved itself time and time again as one of the most durable and capable builds on the market. Armed with a simrad Omni sonar, this is the little boat that could, and did! The Badco 33’ has been all around the world. Traveling to 3 different continents, 10+ different countries, and fishing 4 trips in 3 unique remote locations. It covered over 34,000 nautical miles. With 13,000+ of them spent in its own bottom. Catching a combined total of 64 Blue Marlin, with 31 estimated over 500 pounds, four over 800 pounds, and two over 900 pounds. As the teams trip comes to an end, so does the story of the of this incredible vessel. It will spend a couple months on the deck of the 150 mothership before being replaced by the teams new custom Viking billfish 38.’ It will spend its retirement days in Florida… until it’s needed again elsewhere.
