Judges 6:14: “The Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength you have and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Am I not sending you?’” God speaks to Gideon of strength to deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Yet, the Bible doesn’t describe the hand of Midian as strong, but as powerful. Judges 6:2: “The hand of Midian was very strong against Israel. The Israelites fled from Midian to the ravines in the mountains, to the caves, and to the strongholds.” 👉 Where did Midian’s power come from? From Baal and the occult forces associated with idolatry. 🛑 Behind every word of God, there is an unspoken dimension that you must understand. ➡️ If you only hear “Go with strength” without seeking power, you risk failing. All the battles of God’s children require these two dimensions: 1. Strength: 2. Power: 👉 Having one without the other leads to failure. Before facing Midian: Gideon wasn’t content with the strength he had. ➡️ He sought power to ensure victory. Judges 6:34: “The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew the trumpet, and Abiezer was summoned to follow him.” 🎙️ Gideon’s victory was the result of a balance: • Strength compelled him to answer the call. • Power enabled him to overcome the enemy. ⭕️ Gideon knows he has the strength and receives God's encouragement to fight Midian. But he understands that this is not a battle of human strength, it is a battle of spiritual power.
