Solo-Hiking the Hollyford Track in Winter [Had the Whole Place to Myself] Part 1
Part 1 of 3 solo hiking New Zealand's Hollyford Track in mid-winter. I covered roughly 60kms (31 miles) over 3 days while filming some of the Fiordland backcountry at it's finest. The Hollyford Valley was once home to two failed settlements by Māori and Europeans, but now is almost entirely unpopulated and only visited by hunters, adventurers, and hikers. The Hollyford Track is one of the lesser known of the eight "Great Walks" of New Zealand, but possibly because of this it retains a pristine and "wild" quality, while still being maintained well enough to avoid route finding. Fiordland, which is situated at the bottom of the South Island, is one of the last great wildernesses in the world, and remains a place totally unique unto itself. Hope you enjoy my hike. 😎 #hiking #solocamping #newzealand #fiordland
