The Amiga 3000 I Waited 35 Years For… Then I Killed It #pcbway #amiga #commodore #amiga3000

Thank you PCBWay ;-) In 1987 I was 14 years old, living in Leverkusen, programming on my Amiga 500 and dreaming big. That’s when I met Oliver — a real hacker in the best sense of the word — who introduced me to his Amiga 3000. That machine changed my life. In one single night, he taught me C programming. That night set me on the path to studying computer science, teaching C and C++, writing books, and building a career in software development. Back then, the Amiga 3000 became my grail machine. Fast forward to 2023 — I finally bought one. But what I was really chasing wasn’t the hardware. It was the emotion. Then disaster struck. A wrongly wired PSU adapter killed the machine. What followed was a three-year journey, three different motherboards, countless hours of diagnostics, frustration, learning… and eventually resurrection. This isn’t just a repair video. It’s about mentorship. It’s about paying it forward. It’s about earning a machine emotionally. And in February 2026, the Amiga 3000 finally came back from the dead. If you’ve ever had a computer that changed your life — this one’s for you.
