At NorthEast Squeeze-In 2017 Saturday Night Concert. This comes in two versions: an uncut version with false starts and much hilarity and the third try gets it right, the cut version. Note the baritone and bass (foot operated) concertinas...and a Scandinavian violin variant the nyckharpa, which has sympathetic strings and a wonderful ethereal sound (though it doesn't show up here). The Squeeze-In is a laid-back weekend gathering of free-reed players and their partners...playing accordions, concertinas, melodeons, bandoneans, melodicas and other weird free-reed instruments). No one is paid; we're just in it for the legendary fun: we play...and dance...and jam...and have a blowout Saturday night that these videos record. We welcome beginners and the talented advanced alike. The North-East Squeeze-In happens every fall in the Berkshires Mtns of western Massachusetts. Friends old and new get together in a comfortable, low-key setting with many places for workshops and spontaneous squeezings.
