Mujeres y nuevas derechas, SIN PADRE, SIN MARIDO, SIN ESTADO con Melina Vázquez y Carolina Spataro

Melina Vazquez was born in Buenos Aires, where she has lived her entire life. She is a sociologist and knew she wanted to be one from a very young age, even before she knew what the profession was. She earned a Master's degree in Research and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), as well as a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Research on Childhood and Youth (CLACSO). She co-coordinates the Policy and Youth Studies Group at the Gino Germani Research Institute (UBA) and the Childhood and Youth Working Group at CLACSO. She is a professor of Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Politics was always discussed in her home, and for years she has been struggling to understand why younger generations participate. She is pursuing a scientific career at CONICET (National Council of Experts) and what she most enjoys is fieldwork. She can't understand people who, over the years, stop doing it. She enjoys reading literature and writing. In another life, she would like to dedicate herself to flamenco dancing. Carolina Spataro is an Argentine doctor in Social Sciences and Master in Communication and Culture, an associate researcher at CONICET (National Council of Experts on the Study of the Spanish Confederation of Social Sciences) and a professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is co-author, with Melina Vázquez, of the book "Without Father, Without Husband, and Without State. Feminists of the New Right," in which they analyze women who identify as feminists on the right. Her research focuses on communication, feminisms, and the new right, using an ethnographic approach to understand people's experiences.
