In this video, we take you on a spiritual journey to Holy Family Church, Ramamurthy Nagar, one of Bangalore’s most cherished Catholic churches. 🌟⛪ 📍 About Holy Family Church, Ramamurthy Nagar: 1.Need for a Church: In the 1950s, Catholics living in the ITI township (established in 1949) needed a closer place for Mass, as the nearest church was 4 km away at Thambuchetty Palya. 2.Temporary Worship Spaces: ITI management allowed Sunday Masses in the township’s cricket pavilion and sports club, celebrated by priests from Thambuchetty Palya. 3.Support from Salesians: Salesians from Kristu Jyothi College provided spiritual and youth-focused support, including catechism and social activities. 4.Rising Catholic Population: Growth in the Catholic community around the ITI township increased the need for a permanent church. 5.Land Request Rejected: A request for government land was denied, so Catholics turned to the Archbishop for help. 6.Fundraising Initiative: Parishioners raised funds by going door-to-door, singing carols, organizing raffles, and setting up stalls during St. Antony’s feast. 7.Land Purchased in 1968: A plot was finally bought in Ramamurthy Nagar with community-raised funds. 8.Church Construction Begins: Construction began with the blessing of Archbishop Lourduswamy and the leadership of Rev. Fr. J.B.
