In my small village in the Périgord region, we only have one public charging station. Until now, I charged my electric cars using household outlets at home, which sometimes meant we couldn't leave in the morning with a full battery. My wife and I decided to have a home charging station installed to simplify charging. We already had a three-phase electricity subscription, so we opted for the 11 kW charging station, which allows us to optimize our charging times at home. Indeed, our Hyundai Kona accepts 11 kW AC charging, while our first-generation MG ZS EV only accepts 7 kW. In this video, I show you the installation of our charging station by an electrician, as well as how to use it. However, it's still possible to charge at home without installing a charging station, provided your daily use of your electric cars allows it. A quick note about the residual current circuit breaker (RCCB): it's a device installed to protect users of the charging station. In the event of electrocution, it will cut off the power supply to the station in milliseconds.
