Into the Wild Greece | Endless Forest Roads (Part 2)

👉 In this second episode, we leave our campsite near Tristeno and continue deeper into Central Greece. The day starts easy, with smooth riding through forests, before heading north and gradually gaining elevation. We pass through Elatovrysi for a quick coffee stop and continue into endless forest roads, riding for kilometers under dense trees, with sunlight breaking through only in small clearings. After crossing towards Artotina, we climb through Vardousia and head towards Grammeni Oxia, home to the southernmost beech forest in Europe. The route keeps changing: – flowing forest sections – tight switchbacks after river crossings – open alpine terrain at Sarantena Up in the highlands, the landscape turns completely different — no trees, just open views and a clear sight of Giona’s peak in the distance. We drop back to asphalt briefly, take a small detour for coffee in Ambliani, and continue through dense fir forests once again. Riding around Vardousia and above Evinos Lake, we push further north, refuel in Karpenisi and finally look for a place to camp near Tavropos River. We end the day at a perfect riverside spot — ready for the next part of the journey. Dirt, forests and endless kilometers — this is what adventure riding is all about.
