One hundred years ago, a fundamental political, cultural, and human experience for the history of Italy began: with the Appeal to the Free and Strong, on January 18, 1919, Don Sturzo founded the Popular Party. The documentary "My Father, Alcide De Gasperi," by Monica Mondo and directed by Maurizio Carta, features an exclusive interview with Maria Romana De Gasperi, the statesman's daughter and his main collaborator. It paints a very private portrait of her father, yet one of great current political significance, through documents, letters, previously unrevealed anecdotes, and previously unpublished private images.
