Mothers Day 2026
Eagle Rock Service – Mother’s Day Message Monday, May 10, 2026 In this special Mother’s Day message, we look at the characteristics of a godly woman found in Proverbs 31 and the biblical responsibility of children to honor their parents. Using the example of the virtuous woman, we discover qualities that reflect God's heart: Trusted and Devoted – “The heart of her husband safely trusts her...” (Proverbs 31:11) Diligent and Wise – She works willingly with her hands and manages her responsibilities with wisdom and purpose (Proverbs 31:13). Giving and Unselfish – “She stretches out her hand to the poor...” (Proverbs 31:20). Her life is marked by compassion and generosity. Dependable and Prepared – She faithfully cares for her household and is prepared for the challenges of life (Proverbs 31:21). Strong and Honorable – “Strength and honor are her clothing...” (Proverbs 31:25). She walks in dignity, confidence, and the favor of the Lord. The message then turns to the importance of honoring our mothers and fathers according to God's Word: Exodus 20:12 – “Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Ephesians 6:1-3 – Children are instructed to obey and honor their parents, receiving God's promise of blessing. Colossians 3:20 – “Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” Whether you are a mother, grandmother, child, or family member, this message reminds us that God values faithfulness, service, honor, and obedience. Join us as we celebrate the women who have impacted our lives and learn how we can honor them according to Scripture.
