Food security is defined when all people at all times have physical and economic access to sufficient safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. It can be achieved through science, technology and innovation. From physic's approach, gamma rays help improve the safety and extend the shelf life of foods by reducing or eliminating microorganisms and insects. Food security can be ensured through mathematical modelling which helps in analyzing and predicting the production and consumption of agricultural products by the population. Furthermore it helps developers in developing product that will compliment food security in the future. Chemical based products in soil helps deliver as much nutrients a plant may needs. Then, protect plants from pest infestation and are able to slow soil erosion resulting to a guaranteed safe food supply. Other than that, biodiversity is the main resource in producing food product for the world. Furthermore, inexhaustible biological diversity will ensure the production of food products from stopping. For instance, we suggest developing more plant based foods, as we know Malaysia is rich with greens. Thats why we should make good use of our plants. For example, plant-based meats which is cheaper alternative especially for those who cannot afford meat. There are also many challenges in achieving food security for example lack of funds. Malaysia is always struggling economically that results in a lack of advanced technology development. For example, advanced technology like biotechnology involves a huge fund being put into research, experiment, and development. One way to overcome financial limitation is by making Malaysia as one of the tourism attraction. Above all, there are two roles in food security that need to be emphasized which are role as consumers and producers. As consumers we need to ensure that all the food we want to eat is safe while maintaining its nutrition. Then, as for producers, they play a central and legitimate role in attaining food security. Moreover, small-scale producer need to be empowered to fully participate in food security development. By way of illustration, food products must be free from microorganism infection, must have nutritional value and free from carcinogenic chemicals such as artificial preservatives, flavours or dyes.
