Clergy Priest Bishop: All INSERTED Into The Bible

Six words built the entire church hierarchy — and Jesus used none of them. Clergy, priest, bishop, deacon, church, heresy: he forbade all six by name in a single chapter. Clergy, priest, bishop, deacon, church, and heresy are the load-bearing words of Western Christianity — and every one of them began as an ordinary Greek word the Latin translators refused to translate. Instead of rendering the Greek, they kept the word in Latin dress so it became a shell that only an official could explain — and in that gap the meaning was rewritten. A share became a caste. An elder became a priest. A watchman became a throne. A servant became a rank. An assembly became a building. And a simple choice became a crime you could be burned for. Tonight walks through all six, one at a time, against the original Greek, and lands on the thesis: the man who explains your Bible owns your Bible. This is not a mistranslation in the usual sense — a wrong word explains itself. A word left untranslated needs a professional, and a professional vocabulary requires professionals. The priest isn't just installed by this translation. He is made necessary by it. The case is built from the text itself — the same Greek word translated correctly everywhere except the handful of verses where an office could be manufactured. Klēros is rendered "a lot" nine times out of ten (the soldiers' dice at the cross, the lot falling on Matthias), then "clergy" in the one verse that was written to forbid a caste. Presbyteros is rendered "elder" fifty-six times out of sixty-one, then "priest" in the five spots that grant ordination, salary, and immunity from accusation. We run the Douay-Rheims (the Latin Vulgate in English) against the King James side by side — "bishops to rule" versus "overseers to feed" — watch the Latin turn "feed my sheep" into "rule the church," and follow the chair itself: Jesus condemns "Moses' seat" (Greek kathedra) in Matthew 23, and the Catholic Encyclopedia's own entry admits "cathedral" comes from that word. We cover the King James translators' written order that "church" never be rendered "congregation," and William Tyndale, strangled and burned in 1536 for putting these words back into plain English — his last words, "Lord, open the King of England's eyes." Through all of it, Matthew 23 is the spine: Jesus abolishing clergy, priest, bishop, deacon, church, and heresy in one speech, closing on the line about killing and crucifying the prophets — which is exactly what happened to the people who pointed this out. Reverse the six, and the structure Jesus actually built appears: no separate class, no middleman, no throne, no rank, no building, no crime you're not allowed to hold. "Where two or three are gathered, I am there." Two people. No license. The earliest Christians had no altars, no temples, and no images — and when a Roman asked why, they answered that the altar is the devout mind, and that God is too great to be housed in a temple.
