Cyber threats to critical national infrastructure continue to escalate, placing new demands on utilities, which are responsible for secure and reliable power systems. In response, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) and Thales partnered to design and deploy the first smart grid cybersecurity laboratory in the UK—a realistic IEC 61850 digital secondary system where utilities can test zero-trust security architectures and simulate cyber events in a controlled environment.
