CHRISTIAN SCIENCE: Origins, Scriptures, Beliefs
This video lecture clip from the course RELIGION, ART, AND APOCALYPSE explores the origins, scriptural texts, and beliefs of the Christian denomination, Church of Christ, Scientist. Known as Christian Science, it was founded in nineteenth-century New England by Mary Baker Eddy (1821–1910), whose bestselling book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (1875), along with the Bible, became Christian Science's central text. The lecture was delivered in the Summer of 2018 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
