The Magnus effect
A glider of two cups rotating around its axis, after launch, first rises sharply, and then flies along an inclined glide path. The rotation of the glider leads to the fact that the top and bottom of it is streamlined with air at different speeds. The difference in speeds creates a pressure difference and the resulting lifting force. The force of Magnus acts on the ball during a twisted shot, bending its trajectory.
