The reality
The ground began to tremble softly Before the world could understand The forests whispered ancient warnings Like secrets buried in the sand Mother Earth stood in the daylight Her roots wrapped around every soul She carried life inside her hands While trying to keep the world whole But far beyond the fading sunset A darker kingdom came alive A thousand shadows crossed the heavens And something ancient opened its eyes Mother Earth cried, "This world is mine!" Father Night replied, "Your time has died!" The stars fell down between their voices As heaven split from side to side The oceans rose, the mountains shattered While angels watched the endless fight One fought for life and growing gardens One ruled the darkness of the night Father Night stepped from the shadows With silver fire in his veins He wore a crown of broken nightmares And fed upon forgotten pain He said, "Your children keep on hurting They poison everything you made Why should I spare a dying kingdom That hides behind a false parade?" Mother Earth looked down in silence At every wound upon her skin She knew the world was far from perfect Yet still refused to let him win The moon turned red above the battlefield The wind became a funeral song Both believed that they were righteous Both believed the other wrong Mother Earth cried, "This world is mine!" Father Night replied, "Your time has died!" The stars fell down between their voices As heaven split from side to side The oceans rose, the mountains shattered While angels watched the endless fight One fought for life and growing gardens One ruled the darkness of the night Then came the voices of the broken The lost, the scarred, the left behind They stood between the gods in anger And forced them both to face mankind "We are the reason for this suffering We are the reason for this pain Stop blaming one another's kingdom Look at what we became." The silence cut through both their hearts For neither one could deny The world was bleeding from its people Not from the darkness or the light Mother Earth cried, "Save my children!" Father Night cried, "Open your eyes!" The war that burned across the heavens Was built upon humanity's lies The stars returned, the seas grew calmer The storm retreated from the sky But deep beneath the world's reflection Their ancient conflict never died When daylight fades and shadows gather You can still hear them in the wind Mother Earth and Father Night Waiting for the war again...
