No More Extension Cords: Rewiring Our Old Farmhouse

For way too long the upstairs bathroom in our old farmhouse was running off an extension cord — and if you know, you know that's not how anybody should be living. So I finally dug in to wire it up the right way. What I thought would be a clean fish-wire job turned into cutting drywall and crawling through a 110-degree attic to get it done right. In this one I walk through the whole process: why the brittle old fabric wiring had to go, my first failed attempt to pull wire without opening up the walls, cutting access holes, planning the pulls to save myself a hundred trips up to the attic, and tying it all together up top. I get into a little wiring theory along the way so it makes sense if you're tackling something similar in your own house. By the next morning the fixtures were in and the extension cords were gone for good.
