Trip to Minsk, Belarus

Good evening all my viewers and welcome to a very warm Vilnius, Lithuania and Minsk, Belarus. Due to the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine which started in February 2022 and is still ongoing (lasting longer than World War 1). It meant coming here was pretty difficult and very much thought through by myself constantly before booking and visiting. I would recommend when visiting a Country such as Belarus, checking the requirements and being ready to present any documentation which may be needed before visiting. You need valid medical insurance, proof of accommodation and also proof that you have at least 25 dollars/euros per day when staying there. Belarus use the ruble which is the only currency that is transacted in. You can get the ruble from any government approved currency exchange or bank while across there. A lot of sites say your card will not work across there due to current sanctions. I used my card across there consistently and only had an issue in 1 supermarket. I would definitely recommend visiting but be prepared for however long the border checks take. I entered through Lithuania because I heard Poland can take longer. I would recommend flying into Vilnius and going from there. Edinburgh Airport only flies to Kaunas so this is why I spent my first night in Vilnius. Thank you very much Belarus for letting me in your Country. It is awesome. The draniki was delicious! Until next time I hope you enjoy the video/vlog. Derryn
