Developing the Ability to Trade 4's with yourself.
This video focuses on getting comfortable trading 4's, then having to read and play written rhythms for four bars. It is an excellent exercise to prepare you for playing with a big band or a smaller group with hip arrangements. Practice enough and you won't have to count 4 bars any more. In order to get the most from this video, you need my book, "Independence on the Drum Set". You can find it here: https://www.halleonard.com/product/66... . Get your copy now.
